Khrushchev’s son has tied the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine with a bridge and grapes

The son of the first Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Nikita Khrushchev stated that the transfer CRYMOBILE due to economic reasons.

Professor at brown University in the United States, Khrushchev told the TV channel “112 Ukraine” that his father transferred the Peninsula to the Ukrainian SSR in the first place due to the construction of the North Crimean bridge.

“If you look at the map, the Crimea, he, so to speak, fastened to the Ukraine, and when they began to deal with the economy and, most importantly, to build the canal, which is now unfortunately buried, the planning Commission said that it is better, if will be built under one legal entity. And Ukraine as well as passed many regions,” said Sergei Khrushchev.

According to him, no politics in this decision was not. It wasn’t an attempt on the part of Khrushchev “to appease the Ukrainian bureaucracy” or make a nice gift for wife, joke Khrushchev. “It was not that. Purely structural, and the right decision, the Crimea began to revive, there is planted a lot of grapes,” said the Professor.

Crimea was transferred from the RSFSR to the Ukrainian SSR in February 1954 by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

In 2015, the Prosecutor General’s office concluded that this decision did not conform to the Soviet Constitution, as the Supreme Soviets of the USSR and the RSFSR was not authorized to transfer part of the Republic the territory of the other Union republics.
